The Pepper Seedlings Are Starting to Arrive
It’s about eight days into the 2020 pepper season and a few seedlings have decided to make their debut under the grow lights. Thus far, this season is moving a bit slower than that past two in terms of the number of plants to germinate during this timeframe, but there’s still loads of time for them to do their thing.
As of today, there are a total of 21 plants sprouted from 18 different varieties. Those plants include:
- Apocalypse
- Bonda Ma Jacques – Yellow
- Bhut Jolokia x Paxio Neyde
- Bih Jolokia x Sugar Rush Peach
- Caramel Scorponero
- Chocolate Reaper
- Elysium Oxide Scotch Bonnet
- Fatalii x Brainstrain Yellow
- Ghor-Pion / Gorpion
- Jalapeno – Craig’s Grande
- Jalapeno – Lemon Spice
- Kraken Scorpion
- Moruga Satan
- Murupi Yellow
- Naga Morich
- Pink Tiger x Peach Bhut Jolokia
- Primo Chocolate
A few years ago, I’d be sweating the remaining plants, but experience has taught me to be patient. Some of these seeds, especially the more hybridized crosses that I started could take a while to germinate. Hell, I had an Aji Lemon that took 21 days in 2019, so anything is possible.
I’ll be giving many of these varieties a good amount of time to do their thing. If all else fails, I’ll just start new seeds in a few weeks to make up for those that decided to remain dormant.
