Week 8 of the 2024 Pepper Season

April 24, 2024 | Article Topics:

It’s been roughly five weeks since the peppers starting popping up out of the dirt. And so far, everything is looking great. I’ve lost a couple of plants due to brown spotting – perhaps a result of bad seed stock. Luckily for those varieties that had issues, I have backups that can replace them once we start moving everything into the great outdoors.

Compared to this point in the 2023 season, I am much happier with the growth and progress the plants have made thus far. Looks like forgetting nutrients last Spring really did more to hamper the season than I had reckoned. But, we are back on track for 2024 and I could not be more excited to get everything ready to start hardening off the plants in the next three weeks or so.

Until then, happy gardening!
